Memorigin has given a new appearance to its core product Stellar Series – Imperial. The silver stainless-steel case encloses a watch dial decorated with 18K gold. The Stellar Series – Prosperity is exclusively available at the Hong Kong mechanical watch retailer Auto Shop.
Memorigin advanced its watchmaking capabilities by machining and polishing the tough blue sapphire into a curved piece of sapphire glass. Its extreme hardness and brittleness had made it difficult to be crafted. The product development scale was large and the process was complicated. Yet, everything became worthy when a more revealing perspective of the movement could be seen through the highly transparent blue sapphire glass. A flying dragon inspired by a stone relief in the Tang Dynasty was also embossed on the side of the tourbillon. It formed a classic pair with the phoenix on the dial, symbolizing auspiciousness and the Chinese cultural essence.
The design concept comes from the traditional Chinese philosophy “yin” and “yang”. “Round” implies mobile while “square” implies static. The combination of “round” and “square” represents harmony. An 18K gold square border on the dial links 4 elements: the flying tourbillon displayed at 3 o’clock position, the sphere-shaped GMT Indicator located at 6 o’clock, the time reading sub-dial at 9 o’clock position, and the Chinese ancient planetarium featured decoration at 12 o’clock position. They also show a merge of oriental and western cultures.
This watch is equipped with the AT0502 tourbillon movement, which provides 40 hours of power reserve and has a vibration frequency of 28,800 oscillations per hour. Memorigin’s logo forms a part of the flying tourbillon, making the watch more unique.
