KanaLili, the fashion brand owned by the fashion designer Lilian Kan, launched its first timepiece by collaborating with the Hong Kong tourbillon brand Memorigin. They had the Kanalili Collection – Sora tourbillon watch launch event at the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair 2021, concurrently held with the Asia's fashion spotlight CENTRESTAGE.

Memorigin’s Founder & CEO William Shum disclosed that he had known Lilian for years. In 2017, he invited Lilian to design a watch strap with the theme of hydrangea. After four years, they worked together again to launch the Kanalili Collection – Sora tourbillon watch. It was the first time that Lilian participated in a watch design. She was inspired by the sky. ‘Whenever I look up to the sky, I can feel how small I am and how insignificant my worries are. I hope the sky that I designed on the watch will bring positivity and relief to the wearers. Creating a lovely mood booster is even more satisfying.’

Furthermore, each watch comes with a watch box decorated by her. She ordered blue and white preserved flowers from Japan and used floral art to adorn the boxes. Her attentiveness to details has made every watch unique. She also prepared a rack of clothes and shared her styling tips during the event.

The Kanalili Collection – Sora tourbillon watch has a mother-of-pearl dial in blue and white color. Its array of interesting colors and variations resembles the enchanting sky with iridescent clouds in layers. Glittering white diamonds are embedded around the moon and stars embossed on the dial. The day-and-night indicator lies at the 3 o’clock position. The rotating tourbillon movement reminds you that life goes on. Facing troubles with joy seems better than with sorrow. The silver stainless-steel watch case comes with a white alligator strap. As its simplicity and cleanliness imply the Japanese minimalism, the watch is named Sora (そら): the Japanese of “sky”.

Memorigin’s tourbillon in this watch is a manual-winding movement with 40 hours of power reserve and a vibration frequency of 28,800 oscillations per hour. When wearers wind the watch, the sky on the dial will “generate” positive energy to the mind.
