Recently, Memorigin had a rigorous quality test of our tourbillons by Mr. Ogawa Satoshi Yukari, a highest grade Watch Repair Professional at the renowned Osaka watch testing center - Watch Repair Master. The test consisted of a time accuracy test of six directions (left, right, up, down, face up and face down) and a waterproof test. The result was astonishing as both the time accuracy and water proof test reached the world class excellent level. Because of this, Memorigin becomes very famous in the Japan watch industry of its high quality to price ratio and it helps Memorigin to penetrate into Japan market successfully.
The invention of tourbillon
In the mid-19th century, wrist watches were not popular and people usually used pocket watches to read the time. Since pocket watches were put vertically inside the pocket or tied on the waist; the time accuracy was affected by the gravitational force which impacted the balance wheel of the pocket watch. In order to solve this problem, in 1795, a French-Swiss watchmaker, Mr. Abraham-Louis Breguet, invented the mechanism of tourbillon. Tourbillon is a device that the spiral, the pallet fork and the escapement were worked on the same axis and rotate 360 degrees so as to reduce the time difference error caused by gravity. Due to the extreme complication of the mechanism and assembly process of a tourbillon watch, tourbillon becomes a symbol of “the beauty of art”. Each tourbillon watch is assembled by over hundred pieces of tiny components that only few watch factories in the world can produce tourbillon movements. At the same time, the watch masters who have the tourbillon assemble skill are also very rare. Therefore, tourbillon watch is regarded as one of the world’s top three most sophisticated mechanical watches. All in all, “tourbillon” represents the meaning of “collection value” and “the taste of prestige”.
