Congratulations to world number-one kata athlete Grace Lau of Hong Kong on her triumphant gold medal victory at the Karate 1 – Premier League in Rabat. Within a single week, she claimed the Asian Championship title, secured gold in the Premier League Rabat, and was crowned Grand Winner in Female Kata—bringing immense pride to Hong Kong.

We previously collaborated with Grace Lau and her renowned training partner, U.S. karateka Ariel Torres, to create the Peak-Zone Tourbillon Watch—a tribute to the enduring spirit of karate.

This exceptional timepiece is available in two versions:

The Peak – Featuring a PVD-coated black stainless steel case, it symbolizes the relentless pursuit of peak performance.

The Zone – Encased in rose gold-plated stainless steel, symbolizing the peak competitive state and transcendent performance.

Every path to greatness is paved with unyielding dedication and countless hours of training. Grace and Ariel hope this timepiece will serve as a lasting reminder—to cherish every moment, stay committed to daily practice, and pursue one’s goals and dreams with unwavering determination.

As full-time athletes who devote most of their time to training in the dojo, Grace and Ariel infused the design with rich elements drawn from karate culture. The outer dial is adorned with intricate wood-grain engravings, complemented by tatami-inspired textures and karate belt motifs. Five gemstone-set hour markers in blue, yellow, black, green, and red symbolize the ultimate ambition of every athlete—the pursuit of excellence on the world stage and the indomitable spirit that brings honor to their nations.

The watch is equipped with both a day/night indicator and a power reserve display. Grace particularly fond of the day/night indicator, sharing, "Each day, we step into the dojo greeted by the morning sun, and by the time we finish training, night has fallen. The indicator is purposefully crafted in gold, symbolizing our unwavering pursuit of gold medals through relentless dedication." Adding to its inspirational essence, Ariel’s personal mantra, "Let’s make it happen," is engraved on the timepiece, serving as a daily reminder to pursue one’s goals with positivity and determination.

The power reserve indicator features a scale motif, representing the equilibrium essential in karate—balancing strength, speed, rhythm, and grace. This philosophy extends beyond sports; athletes must also find balance in life, navigating victories, defeats, and challenges with resilience. Through this timepiece, Grace and Ariel encourage wearers to embrace harmony between mind, body, and spirit—even amidst the demands of a busy life.

Memorigin proudly salutes Grace Lau and wishes her continued success on the journey ahead.
