Not only does tram play an important role in the public transportation of Hong Kong, but it is also our cultural icon. Every day, the trams traverse the city from east to west and carry passengers of different generations across the central business district. Since 1904, it has witnessed the development of Hong Kong from a fishing port to a metropolitan city. This year marks the 115th anniversary of Hong Kong Tramways. To celebrate its birthday, Hong Kong Tramways has collaborated with Memorigin, the Hong Kong tourbillon watch brand, to launch the Tramways 115th Anniversary tourbillon series. When the vintage watch craftsmanship meets the century-old classic, their tourbillon watch will be the most remarkable one.
Aligning with the style of Hong Kong trams, the Hong Kong Tramways 115th anniversary tourbillon watch follows its humbleness but remains elegant without excessive decorations. While the name ‘HK Tramways’ is carved on the tourbillon movement, having its logo clearly engraved at 3 o’clock position makes the watch more commemorative. There is a riding tram embossment on the dial. The carving pattern on the movement abstractly represents the constant-changing street view of Hong Kong. As the tourbillon oscillates, the dial imitates how time flies and things change while the tram is gracefully riding on the track.
